Meet our Staff

Jennifer Bolger Breceda

Executive Director

Jennifer has been active in environmental, charitable and service organizations since before her undergraduate days and has always strived to be an advocate for the environment, which is why she went to law school and pursued a focus on environmental law. After graduating from law school, Jennifer worked for 15 years as an environmental lawyer and litigator, most recently as a shareholder at von Briesen & Roper s.c. She has served on numerous legal and professional associations throughout her career and was named a Wisconsin Rising Star from 2006-2010 and is a Future Milwaukee graduate of the class of 2002.

Prior to becoming the new Executive Director, she served on the board of directors for Milwaukee Riverkeeper.

She has an avid interest in many different water activities including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boating, and water skiing. Jennifer earned her B.A. from Marquette University and her J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

Cheryl Nenn

Riverkeeper

Before joining Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Cheryl consulted on environmental projects for the U.S. Forest Service; provided forestry and wildlife management planning for private landowners for the Michigan DNR and Dept. of Agriculture; and helped manage forest restoration, reforestation, and erosion control projects for the City of New York, Department of Parks and Recreation. She also served as a forestry extension/environmental education Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador, and as a Crisis Corps volunteer in Honduras, helping with community rebuilding and reforestation projects after Hurricane Mitch.

As Riverkeeper, Cheryl identifies sources of pollution to Milwaukee’s rivers, actively patrols the rivers for issues of concern, and looks for collaborative solutions to these problems. Cheryl also manages our citizen-based water quality monitoring project, the Milwaukee Urban Water Trail, and various restoration and stormwater demonstration projects.

Cheryl serves on the Board of the Waterkeeper Alliance, as a Project Team leader for the Southeastern Wisconsin Watershed Trust (Sweet Water), and as a member of several Technical Advisory Committees for SEWRPC and WDNR relating to water quality and the Milwaukee River Estuary Area of Concern. She has a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois and an MS in Natural Resource Ecology and Management from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment.

Christina Taddy

Operations and Development Manager

Christina received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in mass communications and Spanish and recently completed her Masters of Public Administration at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She has experience working with a variety of nonprofits in many different capacities including teaching, communications, development, and sustainable food systems. She loves to travel and enjoys a plethora of outdoor activities. From backpacking across Central America, to spending relaxing weekends at her family’s cottage in Door County, she loves experiencing life in the outdoors. As a recent transplant to Milwaukee, she also enjoys exploring the cultural activities the city has to offer.

Zac Driscoll

Water Quality Specialist

Zac joins Milwaukee Riverkeeper after spending five years at UW-Milwaukee’s (UWM) School of Freshwater Sciences. While at UWM, Zac completed a master’s degree with a focus on understanding the feeding ecology of Lake Michigan’s zooplankton community. His master’s research is highlighted in a scientific paper published in the Journal of Great Lakes Research. Following completion of his M.S. degree, Zac continued his study of the Great Lakes while working as a laboratory manager with UWM professor Dr. Harvey Bootmsa. As a laboratory manager, Zac had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to aquatic invasive species, nuisance algal growth, and avian botulism. Zac has extensive experience working in the field which includes helping to manage two National Parks monitoring stations as well as participation in a week-long research expedition aboard the Environmental Protection Agency’s research vessel “The Lake Guardian”.

In addition to his scientific background, Zac has worked as an intern with environmental advocacy groups, as the program manager for UWM’s Bike share program, and as the Chapter President for UWM’s Student Water Council. Furthermore, some Milwaukee Riverkeeper volunteers may recognize Zac as the coordinator of the 2014 Spring River Cleanup. When Zac is not at work, you might find him running along the Milwaukee River or at The Oriental Theater watching scary movies.
